Musk insists OpenAI’s capabilities should remain app-bound, not integrated with Siri.

He criticized Apple for handing data to OpenAI, calling it a privacy risk, and threatened to ban Apple devices from his companies if the integration continues.

Apple assures users that requests aren’t logged and data is controlled by the user, with ChatGPT integration coming later this year to specific Apple devices.

Over 170 images and personal details of Brazilian children have been used to train AI without their consent, claims a new Human Rights Watch report.

Scraped from content dating back to the mid-1990s, these images were gathered by Common Crawl and included in LAION-5B, a dataset for AI startups.

Human Rights Watch warns of privacy violations and the risk of misuse.

LAION has removed flagged links and is collaborating with organizations to address illegal content.

Governments are urged to protect children from such technology abuse.

An open-source generalist model for robot object manipulation

The release of ChatGPT and other large language models has sparked global experimentation in enhancing interactive systems, but general models for robotic manipulation remain scarce.

Researchers at UC Berkeley, Stanford, and CMU introduced Octo, an open-source model for robotic manipulation, detailed in a paper on arXiv.

‘Human extinction’: OpenAI workers raise alarm about the risks of artificial intelligence

A group of current and former employees at top Silicon Valley AI firms, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google’s DeepMind, warned in an open letter that AI could pose a threat of “human extinction” without additional safeguards.

The letter, signed by 13 mostly former employees, calls for more protections for AI researchers to voice concerns and seek public and policymaker input on AI innovation.

Why Do AI Hallucinations Happen?

In the evolving AI landscape, large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI’s GPT, Google’s Gemini, Meta’s LLaMA, and TII’s Falcon excel in text and code generation, summarization, and language translation.

Despite their capabilities, these models often "hallucinate," generating false or misleading information, posing challenges in critical fields like healthcare, legal advice, and news reporting.

Northern Data, a major Nvidia partner, has launched its inaugural AI Accelerator program to fast-track AI innovation.

This initiative offers selected startups free access to NVIDIA HGX H100 GPU servers, powered by 100% carbon-free energy.
