As part of a legal settlement, the Detroit Police Department has agreed to new limits on facial recognition technology use.
These policies prohibit arrests based solely on facial recognition results or immediate photo lineups.
Photo lineups require additional evidence linking a suspect to the crime.
The policies, enforceable by a court for four years, include police training on the risks of facial recognition and an audit of related cases since 2017.
Legacy software firms are seeing soaring valuations. SAP shares topped $200 for the first time, with a valuation of $234 billion, up from $156 billion a year ago.
CEO Christian Klein's focus on cloud transitions and AI integration contributed to this growth, with cloud revenue up 24% year-on-year.

Researchers highlighted the models’ difficulty with larger data portions and complex reasoning, showing limitations in current AI capabilities.
Apple plans to bring its AI features to Vision Pro headsets, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
This follows the rollout of Apple Intelligence on the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
However, these features won’t launch on the Vision Pro this year due to the need to adapt them for mixed reality.
Apple is also updating in-store demos to allow viewing personal media and switching the headset's band for comfort.
